Downtown street lights to be replaced this summer

GRUNDY CENTER —Downtown Grundy Center will receive a face lift this summer with new street and traffic signal lights replacing aging structures along G Avenue and some side streets.
Public Works Director Dan Bangasser said the work will begin early in June and will include replacement of the lights as well as relocation of  overhead power lines under the streets.
Current street lights will be replaced along G Avenue from Fourth Street to halfway down the block between Eighth and Ninth Streets. In addition, lights will be replaced on Sixth and Seventh Streets to the north of G Avenue.
In total 27 new lights will be installed.
Existing traffic signal lights will also be replaced. Like the current ones, the new signals will have street lights atop them.
