County offers $75,000 for Zenor, Inc. property

GRUNDY CENTER — The Grundy County Board of Supervisors voted Monday to raise their offer for the Zenor, Inc. owner property at the corner of H Avenue and Seventh Street in Grundy Center to $75,000.
According to a motion by Supervisor Barb Smith, the offer includes a 10 percent non-refundable down payment that is considered full and final payment to abandon condemnation proceedings. County Auditor Rhonda Deters said the down payment includes payment for legal fees and appraisals accrued during the condemnation proceedings. Smith’s motion went on to state that the County offer is conditional upon having 60 days to conduct an asbestos evaluation. The County would also allow 90 days for the property owner to remove contents from the building.
