TRAER — Junior tailback Eric Stoakes ran for 326 yards and seven touchdowns, both school records, as Gladbrook-Reinbeck dominated North Tama Friday in a Class A, District 4 clash.
Stoakes did his damage on just 21 carries, scoring on runs of 5, 58, 35, 4, 8, 20 and 56 yards, while averaging 15.5 yards per carry.
“We just did really good up front in the o-line; we just got it done,” Stoakes said. “There was a lot of room (to run).”
Rebel coach John Olson said he had no idea that Stoakes was approaching record territory until someone said something after the record seventh score.
