Rebels close out regular season with pair of wins

REINBECK – The Gladbrook-Reinbeck volleyball team ended the regular season on a high note, scoring a pair wins in straight sets over East Marshall and North Tama on their home court last week. The Rebels (16-18 overall, 4-3 NICL-West) were scheduled open postseason play against GMG at Garwin on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 7:00 p.m. The winner of Tuesday’s match will play the winner of the Meskwaki-Don Bosco match at Garwin on Tuesday, Oct. 28.
Jenny Schildroth paced the Rebel offense with 30 assists and a perfect 14-of-14 from the serving line in their 25-8, 25-18, 25-19 win over the Mustangs. Bailea Evensen led in blocks with three, digs with 10, and went 12-for-12 in serving with two aces. Hayley Weber and Shelton Hatch led in kills with 10 and eight respectively, and Hatch recorded three blocks.
