Verne Van Lengen

Verne Elmer Van Lengen, age 81, formerly of Stout, died November 26, 2014, at Grundy Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center of natural causes. Funeral services were held December 1 at Calvary Baptist Church in Parkersburg with Pastor Joseph Romeo and Pastor Philip Dicks of Grundy Center United Methodist Church officiating. Vocalist was Pastor Philip Dicks and he sang “Amazing Grace” and “On Eagles’ Wings.”  Renise Aswegen was the organist and she accompanied the congregation as they sang “What a Friend We Have in Jesus.” Burial was held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Parkersburg, with Curt Juel, Dan Rindels, Merlin Freese, Kevin Juel, Rod Anderson, Rick Reinicke and Mike Freese serving as Casketbearers. Honorary Casketbearer was Chuck Juel. Full military rites given by Parkersburg American Legion Post # 285.  Maria Murphy served as the Flower Committee. Memorials may be directed to the family.
