Rebel girls postseason run ends at Colo

COLO – The Gladbrook-Reinbeck girls’ basketball season came to an end last Tuesday night with a 41-38 loss to Colo-Nesco in a second round regional matchup.
G-R fell behind early, trailing 20-9 by the end of the first half. A 7-0 Rebel run to start the third quarter cut the deficit to 20-16. The Rebels continued to chip away at the lead, bringing it to within one at 30-29 with a few seconds remaining in the third period, before Colo-Nesco’s Shayla Dean connected for a 3-pointer to extend the Royal lead to four. G-R cut the lead to one twice more in the fourth quarter, but Colo-Nesco made good on their free throws down the stretch to take the win by three.
