Huckabee: Time for campaign concern a long way off
GRUNDY CENTER — Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee (R, Arkansas) said Tuesday that panic time for his campaign is a long way off.
During a stop in Grundy Center, Huckabee said this year’s campaign is actually in a better position than it was at this time in 2008, before he won the Iowa Caucus.
“It’s not unlike it’s been in previous years,” he said. “People are riding the crest of things at this point that don’t end up being close to the top when the caucuses come around. We’re where we want to be in terms of getting the organization and the structure in place.”
Huckabee, who ranges from sixth to 10th in national polls and from sixth to seventh in Iowa polls, said he will not become truly worried about the polls until a couple of weeks before the Feb. 1 Iowa Caucus.
