Comet girls split over weekend

CONRAD — A fourth quarter rally was not enough for the BCLUW girls to overcome an 18-point third quarter deficit on Friday night as the Comets fell 62-51 to South Hardin in an NICL West conference tilt in Eldora, but they rebounded with a 52-37 win over Hudson at the Wartburg Holiday Classic on Saturday.
On Friday, South Hardin enjoyed a double-digit lead from most of the first three quarters when BCLUW rallied back for an interesting fourth frame.
Down 46-28 after three periods and struggling, the Comets caught fire in the fourth, scoring the period’s first 12 points to pull within six. Olivia Callaway led the charge with eight of the points, including two three-pointers.
