County Republicans and Democrats gear up for Iowa caucuses

GRUNDY COUNTY – With the Iowa caucuses set to kick off on February 1, county Republicans and Democrats are making a call to local voters to exercise their citizenly duties and participate in the caucuses here in Grundy County.
Both local parties said that they expect this year’s caucus to be a big one, as it is a presidential election year.
“It’s important to get involved, and the caucuses offer voters a chance to do that at the grassroots level,” said local Republican committee member Mary Schmidt. “It’s important to participate in a political process that affects our daily lives, and affects each of us individually.”
