GCHS students return from trip to Germany
GRUNDY CENTER – Last month, a group of 16 Grundy Center High School students took off on a 10 day trip to the Krummhorn region of Germany, where they experienced life in a different culture, and caught up with some old friends.
For many, it was their first time out of the country, or even their first time on an airplane.
“When I first got off the plane, it was kind of a shock,” said Brittany Burroughs, one of the students that went on the trip. “It was really neat to see all the people, and the way they live life, and all the differences.”
During their trip, students got to stay with the families of the German exchange students who visited Grundy Center in October of last year.
“I got to stay with one of the German students my family hosted,” said Jason Kalina, another GCHS student that went on the trip. “He stayed with me before, so it was cool that I could stay with him.”
“I think they were really happy to see us, and excited to show us their life and what they do every day,” said Ana Kuznia, another of the students that went on the trip. “I formed a really close connection with the German exchange student who stayed with me, so it was really nice to meet her family.”
