Supervisors approve substantial completion of annex building

 The Grundy County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to approve an acknowledgement of substantial completion at the new annex building in Grundy Center during Monday morning’s regular meeting, bringing a long and at times frustrating process to a close.
           
“Some things, you’ve just got to live with,” Supervisor Harlyn Riekena said.
           
County Auditor Rhonda Deters reported that she was still waiting to hear from Jacob Bauer of AHTS Architects on the roof.
           
After attending a recent Grundy County Memorial Hospital (GCMH) board meeting, Supervisor Barb Smith said that the organization recently received another clean audit and currently has enough cash on hand to operate for 224 days without any new money coming in, well above both the state and national averages.
