HAMPTON – Dike-New Hartford volleyball often forced Forest City to make the first mistake in the Wolverines' 3-0 sweep of the Indians at Hampton-Dumont High School last Tuesday, Oct. 29, in a Class 3A Region 4 semifinal.
D-NH, ranked fourth in the state, won 25-14, 25-11, 25-20 and booked a rematch with Union for the 3A Region 4 championship in Grundy Center on Monday, Nov. 4. The Wolverines won the first meeting in straight sets on Oct. 8.
"We were very scrappy defensively," D-NH head coach Diane Harms said. "We kept a lot of balls in play and gave ourselves another swing, another chance, make the team take another swing and give us the opportunity to score that point."
Star senior and Wichita State commit Morgan Weber slapped 19 kills for the Wolverines in 35 attack attempts, paired with 15 digs and four aces on 14-of-15 serving.
