Bigs power Grundy Center boys past Jesup

GRUNDY CENTER – Nick Ascher and Wes Willis combined for a dominant performance in Grundy Center's 72-49 rout of Jesup last Saturday at Grundy Center High School.
Ascher scored a career-high 20 points on 10-of-14 shooting and Wes Willis added 14 points and a team-high 12 rebounds. The Spartans improved to 9-5 overall, winners of six in a row.
Grundy Center had a hot shooting night, making 29-of-52 field goals (55.8 percent) and also outrebounded Jesup 34-21.
Dexter Whitehill scored nine points. Dayne Zinkula led the Spartans with six assists. Grundy Center led 35-23 at halftime.
