Girls basketball roundup: Weber, Wolverines smash ranked Osage
DIKE – The Class 3A No. 1 Dike-New Hartford girls basketball team dominated 2A No. 4 Osage, 75-41, at Dike-New Hartford High School on Saturday evening.
Morgan Weber scored a career-high 28 points on 10-of-11 shooting to lead all scorers on Saturday. Weber chipped in 11 rebounds.
Osage committed 24 turnovers, with 18 coming on steals from D-NH's defenders. The Wolverines led 23-11 after the first quarter and went up 51-27 at halftime.
Katie Knock contributed 19 points for D-NH, adding seven steals. Ellie Foster had 12 points with nine assists and four steals.
The win ended a 12-game winning streak for the Green Devils, while the Wolverines won their 14th in a row. In that winning streak, D-NH has outscored opponents by an average of 26.1 points per game.
GLADBROOK-REINBECK 54, N. TAMA 19: Saari Kuehl scored a new career-high with 27 points in the Rebels' runaway victory against the Redhawks at North Tama High School.
Kuehl scored her 27 on 11-of-19 shooting, including 5-of-10 from 3-point range. She added six rebounds and four assists.
Katie Clark led the Rebels with seven rebounds and Belen Ellenberger contributed five assists and four steals.
G-R led 27-8 at halftime.
