The Iowa Association of Track Coaches released preseason rankings for the 2021 high school cross country season on Tuesday, Aug. 17.
In the Class 2A rankings, Dike-New Hartford’s girls team is ranked 14th. The Wolverines have qualified for state as a team each of the last three seasons and return four of the seven girls that placed 11th at Fort Dodge last fall, led by three-time state medalist Taylor Kvale.
The Grundy Center/Gladbrook-Reinbeck boys team is ranked 13th in the 2A boys rankings. D-NH’s boys squad is rated tied for 18th. GC/G-R returns all of its varsity lineup that ran 12th at the state meet last year, save for medalist Kenny Day. D-NH did not qualify for the state meet last season, but return the entire varsity lineup, led by Jacob Gibbs, who was 11th in the NICL Meet last year.
