Preseason cross country rankings released
The Iowa Association of Track Coaches released preseason rankings for the 2021 high school cross country season on Tuesday, Aug. 17.
In the Class 2A rankings, Dike-New Hartford’s girls team is ranked 14th. The Wolverines have qualified for state as a team each of the last three seasons and return four of the seven girls that placed 11th at Fort Dodge last fall, led by three-time state medalist Taylor Kvale.
The Grundy Center/Gladbrook-Reinbeck boys team is ranked 13th in the 2A boys rankings. D-NH’s boys squad is rated tied for 18th. GC/G-R returns all of its varsity lineup that ran 12th at the state meet last year, save for medalist Kenny Day. D-NH did not qualify for the state meet last season, but return the entire varsity lineup, led by Jacob Gibbs, who was 11th in the NICL Meet last year.
