AGWSR volleyball sweeps West Hancock in regional opener

ACKLEY – AGWSR volleyball advanced in the Class 1A Region 3 tournament with a 3-0 sweep of West Hancock at AGWSR High School on Monday.

The Cougars, ranked 14th in Class 1A, won 25-10, 25-12, 25-10 and played North Iowa in a regional quarterfinal in Ackley on Wednesday.

Lila Vaughn led AGWSR with seven kills. Three Cougars had five kills each - Tori Metzgar, Brylea Metzgar and Karis Lippert. Elise Olson had nine digs.

AGWSR was 71-of-75 serving as a team with 11 total aces, including four for Tori Metzgar.
