Grundy council hires Youth Services Assistant

GRUNDY CENTER – The Grundy Center City Council approved the hire of Allison Lyon for the Youth Services Assistant part-time position as part of regular business at City Hall last Monday, Dec. 19.
The council also approved the first reading of an ordinance that will raise water rates by two percent. There were no comments at a public hearing for the ordinance held at the start of Monday’s meeting.
In other business, the council:
- Approved publication of a notice to sell the 1992 Ford Lifeline Ambulance, with bids being accepted before noon on Thursday, Jan. 5. This ambulance was most recently used by the fire department to transport or store equipment;
- Heard from the finance committee/clerk on the start of budget planning;
- Heard from the public safety committee on Officer Bunkers’ graduation from the academy and Bradley planning to attend the academy in Jan. 2023;
- Heard from Public Works on planning to apply for water/sewer infrastructure grant monies in years to come and updates on the water project finishing for the winter, to resume in the spring.
