One dead, two injured after UTV crash

​The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office reported one fatality and two injuries from an accident reported on Saturday, Feb. 4 northeast of Reinbeck, according to a press release.

​The Sheriff’s Office responded to a UTV accident at approximately 8:40 p.m. on Feb. 4, where Patrick Knaack was operating a UTV with six people in it when he lost control. The UTV rolled, ejecting Lori Knaack, 53, who was transported to the Grundy County Memorial Hospital and died from her injuries.

​Two other UTV occupants were treated for non-life-threatening injuries at MercyOne in Waterloo.

​Reinbeck Ambulance assisted the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office at the scene and the accident remains under investigation.
