D-NH trio, AGWSR's Ollivierre earns all-state honors
Dike-New Hartford girls basketball earned three spots on the Class 2A all-state teams compiled by the Iowa Print Sports Writers Association in teams released on Tuesday.
Juniors Payton Petersen and Jadyn Petersen earned first-team slots, while Ellary Knock, a senior, was a second-team selection.
Payton averaged 16.5 points and 10.6 rebounds this season and was named Class 2A all-tournament team captain for the state champion Wolverines. Jadyn, also an all-tournament team member, averaged 13.2 points and 9.6 rebounds this season, adding 3.4 assists and 3.4 steals per contest.
Knock, a Jewell women’s basketball commit, averaged 11.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.6 assists this season.
AGWSR freshman Nakia Ollivierre earned a third-team spot on the Class 1A team.
Ollivierre averaged 21.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 3.0 steals per game for the Cougars. AGWSR finished with a 23-2 record this season, bowing out in the regional finals to eventual state runners-up Newell-Fonda.
Ollivierre is the only freshman to earn 1A all-state recognition this season.
Audi Crooks of Bishop Garrigan was selected as Miss Iowa Basketball. The 6-foot-3 Iowa State Cyclone recruit concluded her high school career with 2,734 points to rank third behind Ella Ruffridge (Pocahontas Area) and Deb Remmerde (Rock Valley).
