DES MOINES – AGWSR's Aubrie Fisher never got the gold medal she so desperately wanted to earn.

But her four-year career yielded 14 state track and field medals and two state cross country medals, and the Cougar senior and Wartburg commit went 4-for-4 earning state medals for the second year in a row.

Fisher finished third in the 3,000-meter run in 11:01.15, sixth in the 800 in 2:22.85 and third in the 1,500 in 4:55.47. She also helped her teammates break their own school record in the girls distance medley, running 4:21.94 for fourth place with Alyssa Hames, MaKenna Kuper and Ali Gerbracht.

"It's been a great four years and I couldn't ask for anything more," Fisher said. "I've always had the support of coaches and teammates and I hear from younger girls that look up to me and it just makes you feel good, makes it worth it. … It's hard to be too sad because it's been such an amazing four years."
