Arlington Place plans $2.6 million addition

GRUNDY CENTER – Starting in July, Arlington Place of Grundy Center will begin construction of a $2.6 million addition to the existing apartment community.
The addition, which will span over 10,000 sq. ft., will include the construction of 10 memory care apartments and six assisted living apartments.
Currently, Arlington Place consists of 24 apartments; the expansion would increase that number to 40 apartments.
Kaylene Hoskins, manager at Arlington Place, said that the company has been discussing the possibility an addition for several years.
At least part of the need for the addition is due to the increasing demand for assisted living in the Grundy Center area.
For quite some time, Hoskins said, Arlington Place has been full – and there’s a fairly lengthy waiting list to secure an apartment. Adding more apartments was something good to do not just for the company, but for the community.
“We’re really excited about the expansion, especially the memory care apartments because we’ll be able to provide specific care for more people who have Alzheimer’s or dementia,” she said.
