DIKE – A second-quarter explosion powered Dike-New Hartford girls basketball to a 69-37 victory over West Fork last Thursday.

D-NH junior Katie Knock scored 23 points on 10-of-12 shooting, adding four assists and five steals. Ellie Foster scored 12 points coming off the bench, with Taylor Kvale contributing eight points.

"We got a lot of fast breaks and were pushing the ball well and got some good layups," Knock said.

Turnovers slowed D-NH in the first quarter, with Knock scoring nine of D-NH's points in the first for a slim 11-7 lead after the first frame.

That ended up being a 21-3 run for D-NH in the final eight minutes, 30 seconds of the second half.

"We just played with more energy," D-NH head coach Bruce Dall said. "We were scrambling to the corners and Taylor Kvale came in and did a nice job with her quickness to get some energy going for us and knocked down some threes, which was good to see from a freshman."
