Board delays action on administrative restructuring

GRUNDY CENTER — More than an hour of debate led to the same lack of answers for the Grundy Center School Board last Wednesday, as the board continues to debate what changes to make in the School District administrative structure in order to save more teachers’ jobs.
The questions involved both building leadership options and benefit restructuring, both of which are designed to save the district money. Superintendent Jerry Schutz presented three possible plans for the restructuring administrators, one which would involve moving Secondary Principal Ann Lebo to the Elementary Building and making Athletic Director and Assistant Secondary Administrator Rollie Ackerman the secondary principal, one which would keep both administrators at the secondary and promote a teacher to be elementary principal and one which would make Schutz the elementary principal in addition to his current role.
