Barlow entertains crowd with his Celtic, finger-style guitar music
GRUNDY CENTER – Last Thursday, Kling Memorial Library in Grundy Center hosted a concert by Jerry Barlow, an experienced musician who has mastered Celtic finger-style guitar music.
During his concert in Grundy Center, Barlow entertained a group of nearly 50 people from around the community with his fun jokes, and unique musical sound. He performed songs from one of his several albums, as well as old tunes from the history books of the British Isles.
Barlow’s stop at the library was just one of the many stops on his tour around the country. His next gigs will take him out West, to Wyoming, Nevada, Kansas and Texas.
Lindsey Engelkes, director of the library, said she would like to thank the Friends of the Library for making this event available to the community.
“Without organizations like this, it would never be possible for us to host all of these fun, free events,” Engelkes said. “Thank you each for all you do, and thank you [to Jerry Barlow] for a wonderful night of music.”
