Childers opens new salon in Wellsburg

Ashley Childers has lived in Wellsburg since she was eight years old, and now she can say that she works here, too: last week, she opened Ashley’s, a new hair salon located at 403 North Adams Street.
           
Prior to embarking on her latest endeavor, Childers, who attended Timothy Christian School, was dual-enrolled at Grundy Center High School and graduated from the Iowa School of Beauty, was commuting to Marshalltown, where she was a stylist at Headliner.
           
“I just decided to open my own (salon) because over 80 percent of my clientele was already here, and we were all driving,” she said.
