Clark, Rebels run roughshod on Spartans

GLADBROOK - Chase Clark needed only one half to reach 200 yards for the fifth straight game as Gladbrook-Reinbeck clinched a playoff berth with a 42-0 victory over Grundy Center in a battle of Class A, District 4 unbeatens.
The Rebels (5-2 overall, 4-0 in District 4) held Grundy Center’s offense, which came into the game averaging 479 yards per district contest, to 113 yards. Their offense rolled up 417 yards despite a running clock throughout the second half.
Gladbrook-Reinbeck played nothing like the team that Grundy Center shut out 13-0 to claim the Victory Bell trophy for just the third time in the previous 15 meetings a year ago. Instead, the Rebels dominated both sides of the line of scrimmage in a game that was just as lopsided as the final score indicates.
