Comet girls improve to .500 with win over G-R

Another huge night from senior forward Olivia Callaway propelled the BCLUW girls’ basketball team to a 59-43 win over Gladbrook-Reinbeck on Friday night, which put the Comets at or above .500 for the first time November 30.
 
Callaway, who is averaging nearly 16 points per game this season, poured in 22 points on 9-of-16 shooting and grabbed nine rebounds to go with three assists and three steals. Senior Hannah Sams added 15 points and eight rebounds, and sophomore Kaylee Goecke contributed a season-high 10 points on 4-of-7 shooting. Samantha Ubben continued to do a little bit of everything as she finished with six points, seven assists, six steals and two blocks.
