Courthouse could have boiler issues

GRUNDY CENTER — The Grundy County Courthouse could have boiler issues that could lead to expenses down the road.
Courthouse custodian Mark Jungling met with the County Board of Supervisors during their regular meeting Monday to discuss potential problems that he discovered while draining the boiler for its upcoming six-year inspection. Jungling said the boiler, which ordinarily holds 1,100 gallons of water, was nearly dry and that he has no idea where the water could have gone.
Jungling said it is possible that there are cracks in the tubing inside the 43-year-old boiler that could have led to the loss, though there is no sign on the floor around the boiler of water leaks.
