After a decade of broadcasting at the local radio station, Austin Draude found out that he didn't have to live in a specific place to call it home.

Draude announced at the end of the 2018-19 athletic calendar that he would be leaving KQCR/KLMJ after serving as a broadcaster with the station for almost 10 years.

He accepted a position as the Media Director for the North Iowa Bulls, a member of the North American Tier III Hockey League that plays at Mason City's North Iowa Ice Arena.

"You've made it hard to even consider leaving," Draude said in a Twitter post on July 25. "Please know there is no higher compliment that I could pay."
