GRUNDY CENTER - This year, the Felix Grundy Festival will have something extra special to offer festival-goers: carnival rides.
On both Friday, July 8 and Saturday, July 9, there will be rides set up in the festival area. There will be around 10 to 12 rides, which will be suitable for kids all ages. The rides will range from thrill rides to mechanical bulls to jousting and more.
Mindy Greany, Felix Grundy Festival committee chair, said that the committee has been trying to get rides lined up for a while, but it hadn’t worked out until this year.
“The number one request that we’ve gotten from people is that we need rides,” Greany said, adding that they had rides lined up for last year, but it fell through.
In order to fund the rides, the committee will be offering pre-sale wristbands and tickets until the festival. There will be an “extreme discount weekend” the first weekend in June, which will be held at a time and location to be determined. After the extreme discount weekend, the committee will still be selling tickets and wristbands at a slightly higher but still discounted rate up until the weekend of the event, whern they will charge full price.
