Fisher, Kvale top 10 at Bobcat Invite (PHOTOS)

A muddy course on the campus of Marshalltown Community College greeted local runners on Thursday evening.
 
In a field dominated by large Class 4A schools, Iowa Falls-Alden/AGWSR senior Aubrie Fisher and Dike-New Hartford freshman Taylor Kvale represented for the smaller schools, finishing in fifth and seventh place, respectively, in the girls race.
 
Fisher completed the course in 19:33, a split second slower than Southeast Polk's Grace Larkins in fourth. Kvale finished in 19:50.
 
Dike-New Hartford finished 14th in the team standings on a sixth-runner tiebreaker, with Sierra Loger's 120th-place finish making the difference. The Cadets were 15th.
 
Ellie Meyer ran 20:30 for the Cadets to finish in 21st place. Ali Gerbracht was 121st in 24:23, Katie Meyer 126th in 24:35 and Zoey Carter placed 137th in 25:16.
 
For the Wolverines, Alexis Jensen finished 97th in 22:50, followed by a pack of D-NH runners in Kaity Houts, Rachel Wardell and Zoie Callan locking down spots 101 to 103 in times of 23:15, 23:20 and 23:25.
 
BCLUW was 22nd in the team standings with a 711 score, led by Katie Thompson's 112th-place time of 23:55.
 

 
In the boys race, BCLUW's Caleb Silver had the top individual finish, placing 39th in 17:25. The Comets were 19th in the team standings with 597 points, with Dike-New Hartford taking 18th with 574 points.
 
The Wolverines were led by Seth Wibben in 97th in 18:32, then Conlee Lyons (103rd, 18:45), Sawyer Loger (108th, 18:49), Giacomo Gilardo (130th, 19:44) and Ian Steffen (136th, 20:02) rounding out the top five.
 
IF-A/AGWSR's Seth Mazoway ran 18:47 as the Cadets' top finisher in 105th place. The Cadets posted a 688 team score, good for 23rd out of 24 complete teams in Marshalltown.
