Fun for the whole family

 
NEW HARTFORD - As June rolls around, the community is gearing up to kick off another busy spring and summer festival season. The first big event of the year will be the annual Beaver Creek Days festival in New Hartford, which will be held from May 31 to June 1 this year.
Lori Palmersheim, who’s in charge of organizing the event, says she’d like to invite everyone out for another year of family-friendly fun for all ages - with plenty of longtime favorite activities as well as new features planned for this year’s festival.
The festivities will kick off on Friday night, May 31, with a kids dance party at the Gazebo Park from 6 to 7:30 p.m., followed by the Coronation Ceremony and the Crowning of Miss and Mr. New Hartford, along with Little Miss and Mr. New Hartford at 7:30 p.m. Afterwards, there will be a family movie night and a slow pitch softball game City Park to end the night.
The festivities will resume on Saturday morning, June 1, with a fundraiser breakfast from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Community Building. The fundraiser breakfast will benefit the New Hartford Splash Pad project, which is aiming to raise enough money to build a splash pad in town for the local youth to enjoy during the hot summer months.
The grant parade will be held at 10 a.m., and anyone interested in joining the parade can join the line up at the school starting at 9 a.m. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. there will be family and kids activities at the City Park, including face painting, a balloon artist, games, activities and an inflatable for kids of all ages.
