DES MOINES – After a short time away from the sport, Saari Kuehl is back to the high jump as a sophomore at Gladbrook-Reinbeck.

She qualified as the only Rebel representative from either gender at Drake Stadium and made the most of it, earning fourth place in the Class 1A high jump after clearing the bar at 5 feet, 2 inches.

Central Decatur's Emma Atwood cleared 5-4 to win the title. Kuehl cleared 5-2 on her final attempt at that height.

"I had done better than 5-0 earlier in the season, I just wanted to try and push that," Kuehl said, "just come here and do my best."
