GC man charged with sexual abuse, child pornography

A Grundy Center man was arrested last week and charged with Sexual abuse in the Third Degree, Purchase/Possession of Depiction of a Minor in a Sex Act, Telephone Dissemination of Obscene Material to a Minor and Lascivious Conduct with a Minor.
           
Forty-two year old Robert Conway III was taken into custody by the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday, November 7, after an arrest warrant was issued on November 2. According to police reports, Conway is accused of sexually abusing a minor who is under the legal age of consent in Iowa (a Class C Felony), possessing nude visual depictions of the alleged victim (an aggravated misdemeanor), sending obscene photos of himself to the alleged victim through a cell phone (an aggravated misdemeanor), and persuading the alleged victim to send sexually suggestive nude photos (a serious misdemeanor).
           
Conway later posted bail and was released from the Grundy County Jail. His lawyer, Jennifer Frese of Marshalltown, attended his initial appearance on November 15.
