GC/G-R boys dominate C-M, stumble against Decorah (PHOTOS)

Grundy Center/Gladbrook-Reinbeck boys soccer showed the patience to get it right last Tuesday night.

Multiple offensive opportunities eventually turned into goals for GC/G-R, and Collins-Maxwell couldn't mount much of a response in a 5-0 GC/G-R win in Reinbeck.

GC/G-R's three-game win streak came to an end in a 3-1 defeat to Decorah, but head coach Jon Dinsdale continues to see improvement from his team.

"We've passed a lot better in the last couple of weeks, had better ball control and our communication is excellent," Dinsdale said. "Our defenders are doing really good at getting the ball up the field and our offensive guys are solid at getting good shots off and finding the right shots. There's still improvements to work on but the guys are capable of doing that."

GC/G-R put 13 shots on net against Collins-Maxwell and generated plenty more shooting opportunities off a mind-boggling 19 corner kicks. Colton Clark finished with two goals and Cullen Eiffler, Drake Blakesley and Brady Jacobsen scored a goal each. Travis Kuester earned three assists and Eli Thede added an assist.
