Grundy Center High School vocal and drama students will be bringing the wildly popular hit musical, “Mamma Mia,” to the stage this weekend for their annual school musical.

The audience can expect a hilarious script, colorful characters and peppy disco dance music in the students’ rendition of the hit broadway show. There will be two performances scheduled for this weekend; one at 7 p.m. on Saturday, December 8th and one at 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 9th.

For those unfamiliar with “Mamma Mia,” the plot revolves around a young woman - Sophie - who is soon to be married, and discovers that any one of three men could be her father. Without telling her mother, she invites all three men to her wedding, and a hilarious, colorful plot ensues.

GCHS vocal director Emily Boquet says students have been hard at work practicing for the musical since the first week of school, gearing up for the big performance.
