Gibson is named Felix Grundy grand marshal

GRUNDY CENTER – As a lifelong resident of Grundy Center, Caroline Gibson has enjoyed many Felix Grundy Festival celebrations over the years. But this year will be a particularly special one for Gibson, as she has been chosen to lead the festivities as the 2017 Felix Grundy Grand Marshal.
Mindy Greany, chair of the Felix Committee, said the group chose Caroline because she’s always been involved in and supportive of the community, and they felt that her efforts should be recognized.
“We chose to nominate Caroline because she’s always been very involved in the community, and helping other people,” Greany said. “She shows dedication to the town with everything she does. She’s at all the school functions, she used to make treats for every event, and she volunteers at the school a lot, helping elementary kids with their reading. We just felt like she would be a good person to represent our town this year.”
