CONRAD - Volunteer partners from over a dozen states gathered in Conrad on Friday night to kick off the annual Growing Hope Globally (formerly Food Resource Bank) Summer Celebration.

Growing Hope Globally is a national organization that was founded in 1999 as a Christian response to ending world hunger through sustainable agriculture and community involvement. For many years, the organization was known as Food Resource Bank. Today, GHG partners with a number of different organizations to help small farmers in developing countries grow their own food.

Across the U.S., GHG engages people to help raise funds and awareness for these food security projects. Thousands of volunteers are involved around the country, including churches, community groups and farmers.

In Conrad, GHG has a strong backing of community members and churches from around the county, who have all come together to support the cause. Max Finberg, CEO of Growing Hope Globally, said the organization is lucky to have communities like Conrad involved in the cause.
