Grundy alumna Faust pursues big goals out east

CALDWELL, N.J. – Stephanie Faust strives to make the most out of every minute of every day

And she's always dreamed of big things, either on the east or west coast.

In the landlocked Midwest, Faust, a Grundy Center alum who played soccer with Aplington-Parkersburg's girls soccer team, looked to athletics as a method of getting her out to the coast.

"I always wanted soccer to be my way to help get me out here," Faust said, "and get me the opportunity to see the world."

Faust racked up accolades playing with the Aplington-Parkersburg soccer team as a second-team all-state player in her senior season, and later with Indian Hills Community College's club, twice an All-Region selection and a Region XI All-Tournament Defensive MVP last fall. She put together a highlight reel of her play with the Warriors to send out to coaches in-between focusing on schoolwork and staying in shape.

Eventually, Faust heard back from Caldwell University in Caldwell, New Jersey.
