Grundy Board begins superintendent search

GRUNDY CENTER — The Grundy Center School Board has begun its search for a new superintendent.
Last Tuesday during a special meeting, the Board met with AEA 267 representative Roark Horn about several options it could use to replace Cassi Murra, who has taken the superintendent position in Knoxville. Among options discussed were sharing a superintendent with another school district, hiring somebody on their own or hiring a search firm to help the Board find a suitable candidate.
Board President Bob Johanns reported that he and Vice-President Kelly Matthews had met with officials from Gladbrook-Reinbeck to gauge their interest in sharing a superintendent if it was deemed in the best interest of both districts. There was also discussion about a possible short-term sharing situation until a suitable local candidate was ready to take the position.
