GRUNDY CENTER – The Grundy Center Booster Club hosted an athletic awards program Wednesday in Grundy Center High School's auditorium, honoring outstanding athletes for the high school's sports in the past year.

The guest speaker at the event was Lane Danielsen, a Dike-New Hartford graduate who went on to play wide receiver for Iowa State University and played briefly in the NFL. Danielsen spoke about the importance of responding to crises and hardships, how much sports taught him about life, and encouraging student-athletes to work on knowing and improving their strengths before trying to overcome weaknesses.

A full list of award winners will appear in the May 11 Grundy Register.
