Grundy Council, GCPCC discuss facility plans

GRUNDY CENTER — Much uncertainty still remains about the future location of both the Grundy Community Preschool and Childcare Center (GCPCC) and the Grundy Family YMCA. Though no answers came during Monday’s meeting of the Grundy Center City Council, the group was given a clearer picture of GCPCC’s future plans.
Jill May, a board member for the group, spoke to the Council during open comment time, noting that the uncertainty of location has made for a strenuous four months. She asked the Council for the opportunity to leave its preschool at its current location in the Upper Elementary building if an agreement between the city and Grundy Center Community School District is reached.
May suggested that in a perfect world, GCPCC could be on some sort of campus where wellness and childcare opportunities could be in the same place.
