Grundy County Community Foundation awards over $100,000 in grants

The Grundy County Community Foundation awarded 30 grants totaling $113,881 to local nonprofits and government entities for community projects at its annual awards ceremony Monday night at the Grundy Center Community Center.

“The work these deserving organizations do to create a stronger county is critical to making our communities places where everyone can thrive,” said Erin Schildroth, Grundy County Community Foundation committee chair. “The Grundy County Community Foundation is proud to be a partner in their work, and we are thankful for the generosity of community-minded people who make this impact possible.”

Schildroth added that with so many requests for funding pouring in from across the county, the Community Foundation was only able to award half the dollar amount they would have liked; and she urged those present to spread the word about the Community Foundation and what it does, in order to bring in more potential donors.

“We would love to be able to fully fund all the requests we get, but we don’t have enough funds available to do that,” she said.
