Health market, cafe to open in downtown Grundy Center

GRUNDY CENTER - Many locals are already bustling with excitement at the news of a coffee shop opening in downtown Grundy Center, but Natalie Kracht, owner of Grundy Center’s newest business - The Natural Grind Health Market and Cafe - says she’s most excited of all to be opening up her business here in town late next month.
 
Kracht, a GCHS graduate, decided to leave the corporate world after working for a healthcare company in Des Moines for many years, and pursue her dream of helping others live a healthier, happier life through her own health market and cafe.
 
The Natural Grind, located at 721 G Avenue in the former Olive Branch building, will offer a variety of menu items including hot and cold coffees, specialty coffees, smoothies, health smoothies, teas, and other health drinks such as wheatgrass shots, kombucha and more. She will also serve a variety of healthy breakfast options, along with the standard breakfast items like muffins, quiches, breakfast sandwiches and more.
 
Kracht says she also plans to offer different health related items for sale in her shop including supplements and vitamins, essential oils, health-related books, journals and more.
 
Kracht says she’s always had a passion for helping others feel happier and healthier.
 
“I’ve always been passionate about health, but in the last three to five years I really started researching holistic health and eastern versus western medicine,” she said. “I’m not only passionate about my own health but about my family’s health, and community health. Health market, cafe to open in downtown Grundy Center And what people don't realize is that so much of your mental and emotional health comes from your physical health and what you put into your body. My goal here is to help educate and lead people on the right track to feeling better inside and out.”
 
After receiving her Master’s degree in health administration, Kracht now does health and wellness coaching on a part time basis, but she’s hoping to expand and bring her passion of helping people back to her hometown.
 
“I hope I can bring something new and different to town,” Kracht said.  “I also want to complement and promote other businesses because I truly feel that for one to be successful we all have to be successful.”
