GRUNDY CENTER – Last Thursday, Iowa Democratic Chairman Derek Eadon made a stop in Grundy Center, where he talked rural outreach and goal-setting with members of the Grundy County Democratic party.
Eadon, who’s new to the position of Chairman, said his goal is to sit down and listen to party members from across the state, and hear firsthand from them where the party can improve in the future.
“I think it’s important to make sure we’re hearing from each county before we approach our next step, or make any definite plans,” Eadon said.
Eadon said the party is currently compiling a formal report that will analyze election information from across the state on things such as voter turnout and party loyalty.
“During this last election, we failed. And now, we want to find out what we missed,” he said. “In order to do that, we have to listen, and that’s part of what we’re doing here [at this meeting.]”
