PARKERSBURG – Taylor Kolthoff wanted to be No. 1 this time around.

The South Hardin-BCLUW junior did that on Saturday with style, winning the 120-pound title at the North Iowa Cedar League tournament in Parkersburg, and picking up his 100th-career victory along the way.

Kolthoff pinned West Marshall's Jacob Vawter in 2:25 in the quarterfinal and held off AGWSR's Trey Lashbrook by a 3-2 decision in an intense semifinal match for Kolthoff's 100th career victory.

In the championship match against Denver's Jacob Moore, Kolthoff was dominant, scoring a 14-2 major decision.

"This is great," Kolthoff said. "I was second my freshman year, third last year, so I just really wanted to shoot for first place."

Denver won the team title with 287.5 points, followed by Union with 238 and East Marshall/GMG with 176.5. Dike-New Hartford finished fourth with 140 points, the Storm finished seventh with 102 points, Aplington-Parkersburg/Grundy Center 11th with 49 points and AGWSR 12th with 48.5 points.
