Lavine Teske

ALDEN - Lavine Teske, 81, of Alden, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at Franklin Country View Nursing Home in Hampton.

Funeral services were Feb. 17 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Alden with burial in the Jackson Township Cemetery in rural Owasa. In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorials be directed to Care Initiatives Hospice, 6915 Chancellor Drive, Cedar Falls, Iowa 50613. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls.

Born on June 23, 1942, in Wellsburg, LaVine was the daughter of Arend and Lucille Christians. She grew up working on her parent’s farm in Grundy County. She married Robert “Bob” Teske in August of 1962 and together they moved to Alden, where they raised their family and ran a successful plumbing and HVAC company. Throughout her life, LaVine was known for her kindness, compassion, and unwavering love for her family and friends.

Her faith was central to her life, and she served her church, St. Paul Lutheran in Alden, Iowa, with devotion and humility. She was actively involved in the Ladies Aid and Lutheran Women's Missionary League.

Above all, LaVine cherished her role as Grandma. She found immense joy in spending time with her grandchildren, giving them endless affection and sharing her love for the fictional character Superman. Her legacy of love will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.

LaVine Ann Teske will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace with Jesus and reunited with her loved ones who have gone before her.

LaVine is survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert H. Teske, her son Mark R. Teske, her five cherished grandchildren, and her adored great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Scott Teske, and her dear daughter, Laurie Ann Akers (Joe).
