Morrison woman charged with unemployment fraud

A Morrison woman is facing felony charges after allegedly collecting more than $9,000 in fraudulent unemployment benefits over a span of 32 weeks in 2016 and 2017.
           
According to a court document dated October 18, 48-year-old Kimberly Sue Geiger unlawfully received $9,132 from Iowa Workforce Development (IWD) between July 16, 2016, and March 18, 2017. She has been charged with Second Degree Fraudulent Practices, a Class D felony, and IWD is requesting a total of $10,545.50 in restitution.
