New pastor has big plans for Orchard Hill Church

GRUNDY CENTER — New Orchard Hill Church Grundy Center pastor Brian Steenhoek is used to taking positions where his role is to plant new churches. His new role puts him in position to build one.
Steenhoek became Orchard Hill’s new leader earlier this year and has since been part of a process that should see the church break ground on its new campus south of Rose Hill Cemetery later this year.
“We have an initial design proposal,” he said. “It’s a relatively simple design but it’s roughly the first phase of what we would like to build. That whole design has been approved and the cost has been approved and we’re hoping to break ground here in the summer.
“Right now we’re fundraising and launching what we call a ‘Let’s Go’ campaign — it’s kind of a Lego theme … a fun theme. I think the congregation’s excited.”
