Schildroth named supervisors chair for 2019

Wednesday morning’s organizational meeting marked a watershed moment in the history of the Grundy County Board of Supervisors with the swearing in of new District 2 Supervisor Heidi Nederhoff.
           
“I think precedent is being set today in Grundy County. As I recall, I don’t think there have ever been two women that have served on this board (at the same time),” new chairman Mark Schildroth said. “It’s a new era.”
           
Schildroth, the recently re-elected incumbent who represents the Reinbeck area (District 4), was unanimously named the chairman for 2019, and Barb Smith of District 5 (Grundy Center) will serve as the vice chair.
